Things You Might Not Know About the Winona Peach Festival

2007 will be our 40th Anniversary from its humble beginnings in 1967 when it was just a local street festival organized to raise a little money for local charitable organizations.

To run the festival, it takes in excess of 2,000 volunteers

Our by-laws restrict the use of alcohol, anywhere on the grounds

All funds generated by the festival still stay within the community.

In 2003, we commissioned Enigma Research from Toronto to complete an Economic Impact Survey and the following is what the statistics show:

1. the festival generates approx. $ 3,730,000 for the community

2. attendance was in excess of 230,000

3. the festival is classified as an International event due to attendees from Western N.Y.

4. that over 24% of Ontario adults have heard of the festival

and many more statistics too many to list
